My Cake

My cake turned out great. Alhamdulillah! First time in my life my cake turned out so good. The centre would almost always sink in or it would be too stiff... orrrr whatever whatever... if you know what I mean. I'm not the type of person who is too much into cooking which is why I don't have the talent... Practice makes perfect, and me no practice! :)

Well, here are photos from the cake :)

Even this looks nice LOL

In the oven.. the centre is still a little moist, so we cook it some more... :) Doesn't the golden colour look gorgeous? I fell in love with it haha You can tell I don't cook, yeah? :P

And the final product... As you can see I overdid the chocolate chips that they started to sink into the cake :)) It tasted yummy... Seriously... My mum and sis who are worse than the jury on Master Chef loved it :))

Now, I gotta tell ya, it looks like a basic chocolate chip cake, but it's different because there is one certain ingredient that separates it from the other choc chip cakes, and it's a Turkish one he he :))

Anyone interested? Here's the recipes girlies:

Ingredients:
- 3 eggs (I used 2 cos mine were jumbo size and I hate the smell of eggs in anything, espec. cakes!)
- 1.5 cups of castor sugar
- 1.5 cups of milk
- 1 pk vanilla powder
- 1 cup vegetable oil (I used a little bit less cos it's already fattening)
- 1 pk. baking powder
- 1 pk. Krem Santi (this is what I was talking about... It's actually like icing sugar, but a little different. Youc an find it at ALL Turkish food stores)
- as much flour as required (I did 3 cups full... it's meant to be a little more runny than a normal cake)
- choc bits/chips if you want

Method:

- add the eggs and sugar to a bowl and mix until it becomes sort of foamy/bubbly... I used a hand mixer, use an electronic blender if you wish

- add the milk and krem santi (icing) and mix until it becomes like a creme

- add the vegetable oil and vanilla and mix

- lastly add the baking powder and flour... remember it should be a little more runny than a normal cake mix, but it isn't too important... I used 3 cups flour, you can use more or less... up to you

- now oil your cake pan with margarine and lightly powder it with flour (so it doesn't stick) and pour in your cake mix.

- after pouring the mix into the cake pan, add as many choc chips as you desire, but I suggest you wait a little, because I added mine as soon as I poured it in, and some of the choc chips sunk in :)

- oh and don't forget to warm your oven ... they never say when or how long.. I just turned it onto 180 degrees celcius when I started mixing the cake and it turned out fine. Keep the oven at 180 degrees when you put the cake in the oven and wait until the top starts to crack. If the top has cracked but the centre is still moist, reduce the oven temperature to 150 degrees and wait for it to cook some more. It probably took me 45-50 mins to cook the cake.

Just a note, due to the krem santi (icing mix), your cake (after being cooked) should be a little moister on the sponge part compared to normal cakes. This is what makes it so yummy to eat... Well try it and lemme know how you go :)

Bon Appetite! :)

If I get it right...

I might just have some photos for you tonight... :)) Pray that I get it right.. I really want it to work out. It's going to be a trial and error thingy... I don't really know where to start, where to go... LOL We shall see together... I'm just in the process of getting things ready :)))

Wish me the best.. Okay? :)

Love you all

I'm Gonna Bake Me A Cake and Tell the Hubster I Made it Just For Him

hahaha yessss! I have been craving a nice cake for a long time now... and just a couple nights ago when browsing some Turkish blogs I saw a cake! (Turks make the best food... I don't care what you say... and I would not change my mind even if I weren't a Turk LOL so don't even argue)

Even the thought of this cake makes my mouth water... yummoooooooooooooo Look I gotta spoil myself one time or another, so it's not everyday that I eat stuff like this. :P

Anywayyyys here is the cake!

I know it doesn't look special, but believe me, it is! I know what goes in it! Haha I will post up photos and ingredients etc. once I bake it... I may bake it tonight or tomorrow since tomorrow is my day off work.

Oh and the best part is, I will actually bake it for myself, but my hubby will think I made it just for him cos he goes nuts over cakes, and I have never ever baked him one in out 5.5 years of marriage :P Yeah, I'll be KO'ing two birds with one stone! :))) Never underestimate a woman :)

Does anyone want to share a nice and simple cake recipe? But it has to be exquisite and simple :P

xoxo my lovelies

Colour Me Pink & My Hubby's Reaction

I worried over nothing it seems, because minus the time it took me to iron my clothes, I found what I was going to wear in 2 minutes. I chose to wear a mini linen dress and pink cardi I purchased on the weekend. I actually wanted to leave it for later since the hijab I wanted to wear with it was hanging at my shop... but there was another I could make do with.. and since I did not want to waste my time (got up later than planned.. as usual...) I went with it.

Oh and I was not meant to shop, but I was depressed, so cut a woman some slack! :) I have my reasons.. I needed retail therapy... Who doesn't? :)

Anyways.. Hubby did not know about my purchases... He wasn't meant to...

Hubby works night shift during the week and his sleep pattern usually doesn't change on the weekend. So he was up all night, but he needed to wake up early for an appointment today.

So I got all dressed and tried to wake him up...

Me: Ismail... Ismail... wake up... Wake Up... WAKE UP... WAAAAAAKE UUUUUUUPPPP...

Him: Zzzzzz.....

Me: Huuuuuu! Get up! You are late! Heeeeyyyyyyyyy!

Him: Zzzz....

Then he tosses over to face where I'm standing, and slightly opens his eyes...

Him: Oh fk!... (He also murmurs something under his breath)

His reaction was at my new items. LOL When he saw the bright pink cardi, he knew right away that I had been shopping hahahah

But did he wake up? Nope... He just asked me to buzz him when I get to work (eventually he woke up)...

Yeah it was a funny moment... May not sound so funny to you when reading it :P But it was funny. Trust me! :))))

Back to the outfit...

I tried to go for cute chic today... The style is probably a bit too young for a woman of 32 years of age, but it's a fun and no fuss look that is all about comfort. :) Oh and my husband who has been telling me off for wearing black and brown for the first 4 years of our marriage is now not so happy that I incorporate colours for the last year and a half... He says I'm too old for pink... Hmmm...

Really? I know the pink is a little out there... but am I too old for this colour? I feel maybe another 3-4 years I can do this tone of pink... What do you think? Does it look hideous on me? I'm confused... I like the colour, but always get influenced by what the hubster says regarding this colour.. maybe cos I'm not too sure myself?

Mwahhhh

I had to do this shot.. with one arm on the mantlepiece :P Please don't mind the unorganized mess on the mantlepiece, I have not yet gone into the decoration part of the house :)

Just for fun! :)) My matching slippers... I wore my tan peeptoe shoes to match my fake tan Gucci bag :)

Hijab: Satin Twill (from edb Collection)
Pink Cardi: Sussan
Black Linen Dress: Sussan
Indigo Jeans: City Chic
Gucci Bag: China
Slippers: K-mart

What to wear oh what to wear?...

It's past midnight in Oz. I need to wake up at 9am to get ready for work. What should I wear? I have no idea at all. I'm going to be in a rut in the morning.

I know, the world wont come to an end, but it's important for me. I will either find something in a jiffy or end up wearing same old same olds which is a long cover up cardi with jeans... any hijab will do on top of that...

Ahhh... I shall see... Who knows? So may you?... :)

Entry kali ini saling tak tumpah seperti telur di hujung tanduk, jika tidak diselamatkan pastilah pecah berderai membaziaq sebijiq teloq. Teloq lani bukan mughah oi, jangan suka-suka angpa jaa nak membaziaq naa ! Oklah frankly speaking, kali ni aku nak cita pasai blusher yang aku baghu beli. Blusher penting tau untuk nampak comelsss teehee :') desperate gila!

Aku beli kat sini ! The Face Shop! Angpa penah dengaq tak? Brand datang dari Korea ni. Seangkatan macam Skin Food, It's Skin & macam-macam lagi. TheFaceShop ni dia utamakan product dari bahan semulajadi. Lebih kurang sama ja macam BodyShop, cuma BodyShop penuh gambaq matsalleh, manakala TheFaceShop penuh gambaq abang-abang & kakak-kakak Korea yang lawa tak hengat dunia. Bila ang masuk kedai ni, mesti ang rasa dunia ini tak adil..........

Inilah blusher yang aku beli. Illuminating Cushion Blusher - Orange. Harga dia Rp110k = RM39. Walaupun nama dia illuminating tapi janganlah ang pa dok kalut habaq blusher aku ini illuminati atau freemason.. Takdak kena mengena aihh.. Kang tak pasal ja aku kena banned sebab sokong Yahudi hahahaha

Hee ni dia penangan Illuminating Cushion Powder ;) Aku suka color dia sebab macam natural skit hehe walaupun dia orange tapi dia lebih kepada orangy-pinkish. Bila pakai blusher ni rasa macam sweet ja walaupun pada hakikatnya aku seorang yang baran wakakaka

Blog fatin liyana tu best ke?

Assalamualaikum

Yawwww people whazzup? Lets che-che-check it dout yawww! Dude seriously aku rasa macam aku ni Joe Flizzow. Dari segi aku greet korang semua, pehh memang sebijik macam Joe Flizzow lah kan. Belum lagi aku rap lagu anak ayam. Seriously anak ayam?? Yaa aa au malique & joe again we're on the radiau aa au! See? Can't you see the resemblance? Bangga syak!

Perenggan pertama je dah mengarut (-__-). Anyway, korang tahu kah, semalam aku bed-ridden sehari suntuk? Tidur je ibarat sleeping beauty. awww isn't that sweet?

Jadi disebabkan ketidak-sedaran diri semalam, aku barulah bukak FB pagi ni, tetiba adik afiqah hadirah kata dia dah vote aku. I was like, eh adakah aku tidak sedar bahawa aku merupakan salah seorang finalis Dewi Remaja 10/11 yang memerlukan undian dari anda semua? hahahahahhhahahaha memang la xkan, sorry yaww i pakai shawl yaww i tak free hair.

Aku tak blogwalking, aku tak tinggalkan comment & aku tak berapa nak follow blog orang lain. Sorry but thats the truth! Aku ni simple jer, kalau ada, adalah, kalau takde, just let it go.

Tapi aku hargai sangat-sangat readers yang sudi comment, follow, tinggalkan msg kat shoutbox, yang link kan blog aku kat blog diorang & yang paling penting, readers yang bersusah payah buat entry pasal aku. (sorry sangat sampai skang ni, aku tak terupdate link2 korang, nanti aku free, aku update kay) Seriously thanks alot !! Korang memang the best weyh !! Memang tak pernah aku imaginelah aku boleh jadi macam hari ini tanpa sokongan dari korang :)

Aku dah cukup bersyukur dah with what I have today. To be nominated pon dah kira orait dah bagi aku. Aku takkan paksa korang vote untuk aku supaya aku menang or whatsoever. Biarlah undian tu datang dari hati bukan sebab korang segan ngan aku atau terpaksa right? Lagipun, sama ada menang atau tidak, hidup aku sama jer macam dulu. It won't change anything. Aku tetap bz dengan kehidupan aku ni & aku tetap tak dapat hang out dengan rakyat mesia sebab aku kat bandung -__-

Movie Review: Hat's Off to "Five Minarets in New York"

Written and produced by Turkish singer/actor/writer/producer Mahsun Kirmizigul, Five Minarets in New York (New York'ta Bes Minare) was screened in Melbourne, Australia for the first time tonight.

I had heard mixed reviews about the movie since it's screening in Turkey on the 5th of November 2010... Some had said that it does not support the Muslim community... that it in fact it defames Muslims... I wasn't too sure whether or not to believe this... I was skeptical since Kirmizigul is not afraid of dealing with taboos in his movies.

The movie is generally in Turkish, but filmed between Istanbul, Turkey - New York, USA - Bitlis, Turkey, there are many sections where English is spoken... however, whenever the language spoken is Turkish... or even Kurdish, there are English subtitles.

Although I must note that there are issues in the movie which are only common to Turks, so do not worry if you watch the movie and are unable to make sense of some parts.

The production is of a very high standard, probably one of the best Turkish productions ever... The topic however... to me... seems to lack in some ways... This is only because the issues at hand are very deep and require more attention. However, I do understand the reason, because 116 minutes just wouldn't be enough to fit everything...

All in all, the movie gets a 9.5/10 from me. One of the very rare movies that have made me laugh while crying, and cry while laughing. Some very very striking scenes...

If you are a Turk or are familiar with Turkish politics and traditions, this is a must watch (no offence to anyone else).

I personally think that the lead actor Haluk Bilginer (Turkish actor) was perfect for the role... I just can't get over how beautiful he played the part. I knew him to be a great actor, but now... he is that much more... especially after playing a role that is very different to his personal life and views so so well......

Oh and the action scenes particularly in the beginning made me OMG for the entire scene. Must watch must watch must watch! :)))

Mwahhhh

More from China...

OMG I have to tell you about our first night travelling in China.

You see it was around 5:30pm-6:00pm... The sun had already set since it's autumn in China... We had landed 6:30am, and had not eaten anything since we got off the plane. I found a Turkish restaurant online. Ottoman Restaurant. Don't ask... the food just wasn't so good and my hubby was first served something that smelled a little off.. we got them to change it, but they weren't too happy...

Anyhow back to the topic...

So we thought let's find this restaurant and get some calories down our guts...

We got out of the hotel and started to wait for a taxi. There is a taxi rank at the hotel door which was full of taxis during the day... but we had already waited for 15-20 mins and not even a single one came. So we asked for assistance from the bellboy. He told us that there are no taxis working in the peak evening hour.

We were dumbfounded... I guess his English just wasn't enough as we discovered on our last day!.. He told us to go down and try to get a taxi outside the hotel.

So we walked down towards the main road... Jumped at the first taxi we saw but he would not accept us. We got the same response from a few more taxis. Then we had about 5-6-7-8-9-10... (the numbers kept on increasing) three-wheeled motorcycles circle around us. It reminded me of scenes from Bollywood movies. No jokes! :))

They had this tiny seat in the back and wanted to take us to our destination. We rejected all of them until we hung out there for another half hour waiting for a taxi to accept us. When we saw it just wasn't going to happen, the hubster started to bargain, but I said NO! My ass and yo ass ain't gonna fit on that seat at the same time! That thing is made for mini Chinese butts! :) So we started to look for one that may fit both our butts without our legs hanging out the side. They are damn scary! The 'bikies' have grease all over their faces... I mean seriously it was funny and freaky at the same time. :))

We finally found one with a seat big enough to fit us both... even though it looked so old and fragile lol... we agreed on 30 RMB to our destination. Mind you, that is 3 times what we would usually pay if we went by taxi. They charge so much only because they know we can't get a taxi!

So we hopped on.. the one we went with had two seats facing each other, so hubby popped himself on the other seat... so I could see what the 'driver' was seeing, and he could only see what was behind us... boy was that a smart action!!!

You see this guy started to go wild... when he did light turns, the tyres would kinda roll and swing until the bike gained it's balance again... I was holding very very tightly on the side handle bars. I thought we were going to roll under a huge bus or something. It was like a roller coaster ride... I was laughing and screaming for the entire 30 minutes that we were on it...

Then what does this guy do? He starts going in the opposite direction just so he wont have to do turns etc! He took the short cut to hell! All I could see were two gigantic buses driving towards us... Everything looked gigantic cos I felt so small and helpless in that thing. OMG! I was just staring... What is going to happen?

Then he swivelled to the kerb... and we fit!!!! My Allah! My Allah! In the meantime I'm telling my husband what's happening and he kept on telling me to close my eyes... But yeah I couldn't...

I have to tell you, it was the best ride of my life hahahahah BUT never again! I have heard some very horrible stories regarding those motorcycles. Since they don't adhere to any road rules, and since the traffic in China is hectic (if you know Istanbul traffic.. imagine 4-5 times worse), some motorcycles to tumble over and cars/buses etc unwillingly drive over whoever is on the ground. I was told about a man who recently lost his leg in this way... including other stories... they are just dangerous. So if you go... stay away from them in the city... just for your safety...

Here is what our one looked like:

Imagine one that's 20 years older than this. I'm not exaggerating. :)) But it looks like this :))

Another version :)

I hope you enjoyed that! I felt like I went through it all over again :)))

Love is.... My New Jacket

It was my hubby's B day (capital B cos he's turning 36) on Tuesday... So what better excuse to go shopping? I needed to buy him a pressie... but what did I end up ding?... The obvious. Of course! I bought pressies. For myself too! :))))

One of the pressies I bought for me is the hot safari jacket I am wearing today. I am absolutely in love with it. Not my sister though... She says it makes my boobies look like they're gonna pop out. Well, I can't help it if they gave it a deep cleavage... At least I wear something inside... Anyways... My lovely jacket and only one of the many outfit combos I dream of wearing it with in the near and far future...

Do you like my jacket? How would you wear it? Give me other colour options to wear with this jacket? Pweaaase? :)))

Jummah mubarak my lovelies... Enjoy the weekend inshaallah! :)

xoxo
Wog Girl hahahah

Just fixing my belt... :) While Pamuk takes a short stroll around me... she never goes too far from her babies... how cute :)

Check out the cloud filled sky... and it's week one of summer next week... argh Melbourne weather just kills me.. but we do need the rain as that's what we Aussies live on... rain water...

Safari meets Military Jacket: City Chic -- for those of you plus size ladies who still haven't tried City Chic... you are missing out big time... Seriously! Prices are a little high end but still affordable... when you first look at their stuff it looks a bit too revealing because they usually have the clubbers and youngies chics in mind when designing (my personal opinion), BUT look behind the lines! There is just so much you can do with an outfit someone may use to reveal... you can use to cover... :))

Daily Make Up Shades

We've already posted the evening look, now it's time for daily make up shades. The key to a good look is to keep every color shades as natural as your skin tone, ok so here goes.

Wardah Liquid Foundation
(photo. 1) gives the perfect matt tone for our skin. Perfect for daily use since it is light on the skin so it wont make your skin tired. Hanna has a dry skin so it will be better to apply sunscreen or moisturizer before applying foundation. We both wear light beige that suit best to our skin color.

Wardah Lightening Two Way Cake (photo. 2) perfect for our skin and prevent the naughty black spot. It also contain Licorice extract and UV protection, so we don't need to worry about our outdoor activities, but we do hope they made the sponge surface smoother.

Wardah Eye Liner Pencil (photo. 3) draws eyes with loads of black, drawing the corner out as far as you dare by only one line. Perfect to get a smoky effect. Use gently for day use and strong line for night use.

Wardah Eye Shadow (photo. 4 & 5) come out with three different colors so we can blend the colors properly. Neutral colors like champagnes, taupes and chocolate browns are best colors for daily use. Another option for more yellowish based browns and beige tones. The color stays on for hours and we didnt have trouble reapplying because only a little dash and the highlighting effect will take effect immediately on our lids. We apply darker brown shade to colour the outer lids and lighter color for inside lids in order to get bigger and strong eyes.

Hanna is using eyeshadow code A while Fifi is wearing eyeshadow code B. Which one suit you? Dont worry Wardah has 14 different color and it still come out with three color in a pack. Nice! Oh and also the eye shadow is quite long lasting.

In an attempt to make our wimpy lashes look thicker longer and more voluminous, Wardah Long Lash Curling Mascara (photo. 7) is our solutions. It can improve the appearance of eyes, brighter and more noticeable.

Blush on can be a beauty secret weapon for ever women. Therefor, Wardah Blush On (photo. 6) number C is our weapon for our daily make up. Natural looking color, we are not afraid of "Miss Jengkelin" looking a like. The brush so cute and small pretty handy to carry. However Fifi prefered to brush her checks with wider brush so she prefer to use her own brush.

In order to give greater shine for our lips our choice goes to Wardah Exclusive Lipstick (photo. 9) number 37 and 33. Try to mix both color using lip brush or mix it with brighter color for example Wardah number 48, this will help us distribute the color evenly and get more fresh color.

Last but not least, Wardah Wondershine (photo. 10) contain with Squalene, Jojoba oil, VItamin E, shining your lips and giving your luminous result also pampering our lips with moisture and antioxidant protection.

Well that's it, we hope you'll find this helpful, because for both of us, applying make-up is necessary for every woman, as it forms a protective screen for the skin, it also gives us personal benefits, a better look.

Get The Look For Evening Event

After a couple of weeks using Wardah products, we came out with a brighter smile. We would definitely continue wearing the products. Let us share our stories.

How to get a beautiful elegant look for evening party or some special occasions without going to a professional makeup artist? Let's have Wardah collections makeup done. To perform a great make up for night we would like to look bold but not aggressive nor inappropriate.

After having our face clean and moisturize, we apply Wardah Liquid Foundation. A foundation that give your face brighter look yet its still light on face. Our tips to cover some fine lines we apply double so our face will look smoother.

In order to give a beautiful look at all times we apply Wardah Two Way Cake with brush or puff anything that suit your cup of tea. It contain with vitamin E and oil control that will help our face look fresh and bright. The formula absorb excess oil from your skin. From Hanna's experience she likes to use brush rather then the sponge that come with the powder, it blends with the skin better since she has a dry skin.

For night use we go for a sultry eye using chocolate bronzes, charcoal blacks, metalic emeralds, eggplant purples and deep grey. Wardah offering those color on Wardah Eye Shadow code number H, B and F. We both mixed those colors. It may look messy at first, but do not worry because we have our blending brush.

We line our bottom lash line with Wardah Eye Liner Pencil and get smudge. The pencil lines our eye perfectly, dark, bold and deep without lining it couple of times. One line and it frames our eyes like a pro.

Last touch for the eyes is double lash our eyes with Wardah Long Lash Curling Mascara after putting a fake eye lashes. Voila.. Ready to stare.

Brush on some soft pink peach brown blush from Wardah Blush On code A (Hanna) and code C (Fifi) onto the hollows of our cheeks. As we both having a round and wide cheeks, we avoid applying rights on the apples, we dont want to accentuates the roundness even more.

For our lips, we swipe Wardah Exclusive Lipstick number 26, Matte Lipstick 4 and define it with a shiny gloss from Wardah Wondershine number 3.

So there you go, an easy make up step for your evening event. Dare to wear bright colors on your eyes and accessorize your hijab scarf with a pretty headband. Remember, if you put a bright colors on make up, try to wear a natural color for scarf.
