Tahukah anda tentang Social Media Awards 2012?

Assalamualaikum

Have you ever heard about this award? Last week I was informed that I've been nominated for 'Best Celebrity Blog'. Upon receiving such notification from the admin, I felt puzzled. Few questions I had in my mind. Why was I nominated in that category? Was I eligible for it? I chose not to answer the questions by myself.

Later that I know, I was leading the voting poll. Astounded by the figure right before my eyes, I quickly realized that this is a zerious buzinezz. I made myself clear that those who are nominated are mandatory to include the campaign in their blogs. I don't want to get your precious votes wasted just because of my laziness! So here I am writing an entry about it =)

I prefer not to plead people to vote for me so that I can easily win that category. No, I don't want to win the title if I am far below par. You don't want people to question about your winning right? Me too. So if you think that I am not qualified enough for it, so don't vote for me. But if you think that I deserve it, so just vote for me. As simple as that.

So you can see that currently, I am leading the voting poll for 'Best Celebrity Blog'. Thanks a lot for your votes people !!! I appreciate the hardship of signing up an account before you can start voting hehe.

Apart from that category, you can also vote for another nominees in the long listed categories on your right side of the screen. Cool liao ! If you think they deserve to win, just keep on voting so they can win.
And if you would like to see me winning the trophy like a Grammy, and insist to vote for me then what I more can I say? As the Malay saying goes 'Kecil Tapak Tangan, Nyiru Kutadahkan'. You see I siap give you peribahasa you know, next time I give pantun, syair, sajak and all of the component of BM pemahaman paper hahaha!

You can vote for me HERE, but you need to sign up first. Tarikh tutup adalah 6 February 2012.

Thank you so much for nominating and voting for me! Thank you also to the organizer World Bloggers & Social Media Awards 2012. Now would you excuse me cuz I need to get my work done. Ciao.

Thank you for reading this entry !

TEA FOR TWO

Outfit: The Poplook POPPY Crepe Maxi dress // Dorothy Perkins heart cardi // Kiss & Tell patent pumps // Tassel Brooch Bouquet brooch bouquet // Tye dyed scarf courtesy of Ina's Scarf

It's the end of January. Already?? Gosh, how time flies, right? Well, I'm not sad that January's over, cause instead, it'll be my month tomorrow! Weehoo! So many things I'm anticipating in this coming month. I'll keep you guys updated if everything goes well, insyaAllah. By the way, the title of this post says 'Tea for Two' right? But why the heck am I alone? Hahaha..

Of all of Poplook's dresses that I own, this one indeed is the bomb! Why? The extra volume maxiness (haha whatthe??) What I meant was, the bottom half of the dress gave such a pretty 'A' shaped silhouette without me having to pose for it. Too princessy? That's the whole point! :D

Goodbye January! You've been good :D

P/S: I'm still figuring out where is my other foot in the last image. :p

Hijabi Essentials: Long Sleeve Polo Neck Tops

Life savers they are! Long Sleeve Polo Neck tops... I renew my ones every year. K-mart has some great ones come out every autumn, but they are finished before the end of winter, so I always stock a few blacks and singles in most other colours every year. :)

I am currently in need of some, and K-mart has not launched them yet in Sydney (I hope they do soon!!!), so when I was browsing the Asos sale items, I noticed that they have a few of their polo necks on sale.

$11.35 AUD

$9.73 AUD

$12.98 AUD

They have each style available in a couple colours, but be quick if you are interested, the black ones are almost sold out in all sizes. I like the last one ('The Polo' Top) the most due to fabric quality. They stock all the tops in sizes 6-18 so it's not a bad range of sizes.

If interested, click away, but don't go overboard as I do. LOL The FREE shipping is always a great incentive at Asos.

Hijab Review: Rabia Z Fitted Sports Hijab

I've been meaning to purchase the Rabia Z Fitted Sports Hijab for such a long time! This desire grew even more after the Capsters Basic.

After trying the Capsters Basic, I had mentioned that the only con for me regarding this hijab was the shape around the face. It was too large and made my face look even wider.

I was originally after such a 'hijab' to wear under shawls that I can wrap loosely, yet have full coverage. So when I saw the Rabia Z Fitted Sports Hijab, I thought this one might be perfect, because the face 'hole' seems slimming... just the way I want it!

So I ordered it the previous week on Sunday (from Dubai), and it arrived on Wednesday (to Australia). I thought that was pretty express even though I didn't request express shipment. So yay to that! :))

I have to say I am very very delighted with my purchase. It is exactly what I wanted. There are no cons at all about this product.

Here is my video review on the product. Hope you like it! :)

Turban Tutorial - Inspired by Ozlem Ay

Another repeat for you if you have seen this on my Facebook. :) Just a warning there will be one more following this post. :)

This is a turban tutorial, not a hijab one. :) The reason I went ahead with doing this one is the high number of requests I have been receiving for this tutorial for the past couple years... particularly from young girls living in Germany.

Ozlem Ay is a Turkish singer living in Germany, and she wears a variation of the turban styles. I have noted in the video that I am not doing this video for these requests alone, but also as an idea for cancer patient who have lost their hair, and would like to cover their head, but have no idea how to do it. So I might do a couple more turban tutorials in the future for this reason.

Okay, so this is what the original looks like:

And here is my video tutorial on the style:

Hijab Tutorial #11: Wrap the Shawl the Popular Turkish Way

I made a few videos the other day. If you are on my Facebook, you may have come across them, so forgive me if this is like a repeat post for you :)

This video is to demonstrate the shawl style wrap that has been a hot trend in Turkey for the past couple years. I love this look, because as soon as I saw it I thought, "yes, now I too can wear the shawl without making my chubby cheeks look even bigger". However, it is a little difficult to find the right shawl here in Australia. You can't achieve the look with the soft shawls, the fabric needs to be a little thick so the peak can stand up.

For those of you who hate using pins, this style is a dream, because there are no pins involved at all. :)

Here are a few photos of the style I tried to achieve:

And here is ma video :)
