Yeah?
Well, I thought it was going to be published tomorrow, but nope, it came out today.
So here is the article by Kylie ELSE from the online version:
There were better photos... but oh well, not so bad :))
"AFTER a decade of celebrations at Broadmeadows Valley Park, the Eid Festival has moved to the Broadmeadows Town Hall, signalling a revamp of the event.
The festival, which marks the end of Ramadan, will be held from 11am this Saturday and Sunday.
Event spokesman Neil Aykan said it would be a “different set-up” with weather playing less of a part than previous years.
“In previous years, rain and mud was an issue,” he said.
It will be set up in and around the town hall, with the stage inside and rides in the carpark behind the council office.
Comedians, school choirs and cultural music will be the main entertainment, while more than 50 stalls will include food, clothing and jewellery.
Mr Aykan said “entertainment is universal” and welcomed the wider community to come along.
“It’s a Muslim activity but the whole community is encouraged to attend.”
A fireworks display will also feature, with organisers asking residents to keep pets inside between 8 and 9pm.
Eid-al Fitr is a three-day celebration where Muslims take part in a morning prayer, then visit relatives, the sick and elderly, and the poor.
The Eid Festival has become a major event in Broadmeadows."
