I had worn a necklace here on the weekend. Some wanted to know where I got it from. I bought mine from Forever New. Even though I love it dearly, I don't think it's worth the amount I paid. The good thing about it is, it is sooooo doable! :) So, those of you who want something similar can easily make it for yourself.
I have taken detailed photos and I will include step-by-step instructions below.
Let's begin! :)
This is the necklace :)
First thing first! You need a rope to make the necklace. You can find ones like this in the curtain section of Spotlight and similar stores.
Then you need 5 rings - make sure that the size of the rope is thick/thin enough to go through the rings two times!
Then you need the 'charms' you want to dangle down... the number of charms, their length, size all can vary depending on what you want. :)
The first things you need to put through the rope are the charms.
Once you have put on the charms, get one end of the rope and thread it through the five rings.
Then get the other end of the rope and thread it through the opposite end of the rings - make sure a loop is formed and the charms are lined up within that loop.
And voila! You should be done!
If you like, you can experiment with the type of materials you use. Using the same technique, you can try a thick velvet ribbom or even leather instead of the rope. I just love the idea how they have used a loop/rings to hold everything together.
Once I get some materials and stuff, I will do one of my own and share. I need to make a trip to Spotlight soon! But if you make something using this, I would love to see it. So email me at edbdesigns@gmail.com :)))
