Notes from recent movies

Lately I've been heading to the movies like once a week. I know for some this is a waste of money as movies can easily be accessed online, but honestly, if I really want to see a movie, I prefer the huge white screen. Something else I really love is the expression of emotions of all the people in the same room watching the same thing...

Whenever I laugh or cry through a scene, I also pay attention to the reactions of other viewers. I don't know, it just fascinates me. :) Also, I don't really go out much, so going to the movies (almost always alone.. I don't mind it at all) is a treat and an excuse to go out. I feel good coming home after a good movie. :) So anyway, here are some brief notes on movies I've seen in the past couple months.

I have watched almost every Colin Firth movie after BBC's Pride & Prejudice. Of course no character can measure up against the darling Mr. Darcy, but I still can't resist watching anything he makes. I am never really disappointed, because Firth always takes part in movies I enjoy watching. He is always given a great role, which I can't help but think is thanks to Darcy. :)

All I can say about The King's Speech is that it is not a visual movie. It's not about the action or the scenes. It's purely based on the dialogues and the amazing acting performances. I can't say it's a movie for all. It seems to move a little slow, but I adored it! However, I must say that the "BANG" was sort of lacking. You know how we always expect a "BANG" and you say "yeah! now that's it!".

The struggle with a man's self and his disability to be fit to be a King. There are many things one can take from the movie... if you are willing to sit through approximately 120 minutes without any action... just dialogues... Oh and I have to say Helena Bonham Carter was delightful in every way. :)

Oh wow! Where to begin?.. This was such a powerful movie... Well actually all throughout the movie I thought "my God, when is it going to pick up?!" I wouldn't recommend for a family viewing as there are scenes that may just make you feel uncomfy watching with your family. We all know how movies are. They must! have certain scenes. :) However, every scene in this movie seems to be essential. All becomes apparent at the end.

I don't know whether it's passion or obsession... to be... to become... perfect... Reaching such a point... so high in pleasure... that it must end...

I know this all sounds like weird mumlings, but if you have already seen the movie, you most likely know what I mean.

Aronofsky drags us... literally drags us to the end of the movie... and just when you/I give up.... BANG BANG BANG!!!!!! You get knocked out. The final 15-20 minutes... the finale is the reason Aranofsky uses cheap and old movie tricks to make you think, "no way, you gotta be kidding!"... You give up on the movie many times and then there's a slight and soft bang to keep you waiting for more.

Honestly, I would love to watch this movie one more time. It's freakishly awesome! 10/10 for Portman's acting performance!

Most of us already know that we use 5-10% of our brain capacity. Imagine we were able to use our God given capacity to its fullest? This is the idea Limitless is based on... However, I cannot imagine the use of 100% brain capacity, because if we were able to use only another 10-20% poooaaahhhhhh... dangerous!!!!

Well, when I first saw the add to Limitless before King's Speech and Black Swan, I thought I have to watch this! So as soon as it came out I was there at my earliest convenience. LOL And you know what? No regrets whatsoever.

After one pop of a certain medication still under trial, Cooper becomes focused, suddenly know what to do, his ability to learn new languages develops, he is just fast fast fast.... The first half of the movie I ran out of breath to keep up with his speed. He speeks fast, acts fast... fast fast fast.... My brain goes all gooey and weird running around (mentally) with him. :)))) I like it.. I really like it...

During the second half of the movie of course the scenario starts to unravel... recognition... realization... resolution... etc etc... it's any old movie after that, but nonetheless, I really enjoyed watching it. The idea that the movie is based around is a great one. I have always wondered what would be different if we could tap into our brain and use a little more of that extra capacity. I think we might just break down blow up in smoke or something. :))))

Those of you who know me, know that I always love romcoms and prefer them to any other movie. :) I just like feeling all nice and happy and soft inside after leaving the movie theatre. :) It gives me hope I guess?

I hadn't watched a very good romcom in quite a while. I mean I always like 'em, but some are too cliche... I don't like the feeling that I'm watching an imitation or try hard romcom. It has to reach out to me. :) Am I asking for too much? :)

Aaaanywaaaay, a couple weeks ago I decided to watch Just Go With It. I wasn't too tooo wrapped about seeing, but there was nothing else, and I was in the mood for a good romantic comedy. :) You know what? I didn't want to leave when the movie ended. I hadn't felt so good in such a long time, so elated and happy.... the movie was so friggen entertaining. I seriously recommend to all females cos I know almost all of us are suckers for romcoms and the blokes hate 'em. :)))

Oooh and I must say Jeniffer Aniston is looking better than ever!

Certainly a feel good movie. Watch it if you feel down or if you just like laughing/smiling. :)))

Anybody watch any of the above? What do you think? Do you have any recommendations? I'd love to hear about it!

Mwah :)
