1. Sodium chloride (table salt)

2. Oleoresin Capsicum (pepper spray)

3. Diatomaceous Earth (a component in dynamite)

4. Albumen (egg whites)

5. Plastics

6. Simethicone (gas relief drops)

7. Urea (formerly extracted from urine) oohh God, disgusting… I never knew this ?!!

8. Propylene Glycol (not antifreeze)

9. Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (or, as my granny called it, shortnin')

Make Up Shelf Life - Hijabi Arabic

Here's a quick guide on the shelf lives of typical beauty products:

• Lipstick : can be used up to 2 years, as long as it doesn't smell or look funny.

• Lip gloss : works the same way as lipstick and will last up to 2 years.

• Lip liner: 2 years

• Pressed face powder : will normally last for one year or longer. ( 1 to 2 years)

• Oil-free Foundation: 1 year

• Concealer : depending on the formulation, can last around 8 months or sometimes 12-18 months

• Powder Eye shadow : 2 years

• Cream Eye shadow : 12 to 18^th months

· Eyeliner : 2 years

· Liquid eyeliner : 3 to 6 months.

• Mascara : should be tossed every 6 months, since it is worn so close to your eyes

• Blush : can last around a year before you need a new one.

• Nail Polish : 1 year
