Today I took part in a photo shoot for a community paper. The Hume Leader. So if you live in the Hume region, you will receive the paper in your mailbox next Wednesday. :)
The shoot had nothing to do with me or my business. It was for a little feature article regarding the Eid Festival (12-13 September, 2010) organized by MEF (Melbourne Eid Festival).
We used some hijabs from my shop... Outside... On a road between the council and a major shopping centre in the area... For approximately half an hour we were posing... With passers by standing around and/or turning back to see what was going on. LOL It was embarrassing. :) Anyways, I thought I would dress smart casual for the occasion. I was actually going to wear white/cream coloured trousers, but I thought it would stand out too much, so to tone it down I went for my dark jeans instead. :)
Well, I will be sharing the article once I receive the paper next week... Only 1 of 50-60 photos will be selected.. I hope it's a good one LOL The photographer took shots from down below, so I'm worried about my nostrils haha! Anyways, we shall see... :)
Here is what I wore...
My sister was watching and laughing while I was posing today... which is why I have that "I'm about to laugh but need to refrain" look on my face. :) You would think she'd offer to take the photos for me yeah? :)) Instead she enjoyed mocking me. :)) Ahhhh gotta love sisters :)
I definitely believe that lighter coloured trousers (white/cream) would have made this outfit pop, but preferred the toned down look for the reasons I mentioned above. Also, I normally try not to do print on print looks, but thought that this scarf which I wore in a previous post would help avoid a 'boring' look. However, after seeing the photos, it feels to me as though I look like a department store worker. Not that it's a bad thing... but it just wasn't what I was going for LOL It was probably the cardi-like jacket? :)
I thought I would share the full design of my scarf... am certainly loving this one :))
Sleeveless Navy/White Polka Dress: Metro (from K-mart)
Navy Cardi-like Jacket: Autograph
White Belt: City Chic
Silk Scarf: Armine 2010-2011 A/W (from edb Collection)
That's all for today my beautiful peeps! :)
xoxo
