It was the day before I got back from China... My mummy dearest gave me the news on the phone: Congratulations... You have five babies!
I was experiencing both emotions at the once... I was vey upset that I could not be there for Pamuk during her delivery, but also over the moon that she was now relieved...
The first thing I did the following day after landing in Melbourne was to see her and her babies. It wasn't a very good sight... All five kittens were interlocked with each other via the umbilical cord... My baby was still too young and was unable to pull them apart... this caused them to stick together at various parts of their bodies. Two of them had lost a foot each due to the cord... I lost two of my kittens that day, and another the following day... I now have one that is missing a foot, but mashaallah he is soooo healthy and powerful... and I have one fully white baby just like her mummy... she seems fragile and weak, but she too is a fighter.
I was told that a younger cat that delivers babies may lose all her babies or only 1-2 may survive. So far, we have two... They seem as though they are going to pull through mashaallah... they are soo precious.
This morning as I was leaving for work, I saw the two babies cuddled up, and they reminded me of the Yin Yang symbol. :) Take a look...
I don't know yet if they will have different coloured eyes like mummy as their eyes are still closed... I guess we will wait and see... :))
