Hijab of the Week

I received another batch of Armine's new season scarves yesterday. I did what I do every time I receive new stock; go through them, note that the codes match the ones of those I ordered, check the quantity, and go through each design and colour one by one to see which ones I want. LOL!

So last night I repeated the 'going through' process probably 5 times? Then mum stood over me and asked what I was doing.

Me: Do you think this will look better with my eid outfit?.

Mum: Shut up.

Me: Seriously?

Mum: Is there a rule that says you need to take 1 scarf from every batch you receive?!

Me: *grin*

Me (in my head): I'm actually thinking of taking 3... or maybe 4... or maybe 5 this time heheheheheh

BUT! I am really working my self-control here girls! I absolutely loved some of the colours. One (which I am wearing now) is a definite haha, but there are 2 more that I really love in this batch. I need to choose only one of the two I'm stuck on. So I brought them all to the shop today. If any one of the two I like sells, I can take the other. :)))

Anyways, here is the hijab of the week... I instantly fell in love with this one even though some other colours would suit me better. :)

Mwahhhh

This is the catelogue version and catalogue colour... Look how hot she looks! I'm jealousssss :)))

And this is my one... Same scarf as the one above, but a different colour version.

A Fashion Show and What to Wear

Okay, so I have a dilemma tonight! There is an abaya fashion show tonight, and I just heard about it last week... and said, "ok I'm going!" only since it's been a while since I've seen friends. However, I never thought of what I should/could wear?

It's sooo tough when you are a plus size... It already takes an effort to look presentable as a hijabi, but add extra kilograms to that... and you will know what I mean if you too 'suffer' from the same 'problem'. :) I am also losing weight slowly but steadily, so I have been staying away from buying new clothes, as I ONLY purchase things I really love, and I prefer to wear them for a loooong time...

So yeah, I have a dilemma!

Don't you always find yourself stuck in the same situation for every event that comes up? Arghhh! (The photo is from Carrie's closet/WIR - Sex and the City)

It's a fashion show for God's sake! And it's ladies only, so I can just imagine everyone looking their best boohoo... I have picked something out.. I'm sure I am going ALL BLACK.. as always... :( However, I am going to add some red features such as a red clutch, red shoes... but I'm stuck on the scarf...

Now, should I go for the scarf I wore for my most recent Hijab of the Week post; I like that it's black (goes with the overall outfit), and it also has colours other than just red in it... cos I think it would be nice having the different colours too.. so matches, but not the standard plain colour matching we generlly tend to go for. I also have another hijab that is all red with silver patterns on the border (and I will have a silver belt.. so? hmm), I don't know if that will be TOO RED?

I'm just kidding of course... while there are so many problems around the world... but yeah, either way, all women like to look good and presentable... I think I'm going to go with my Hijab of the Week, me likes it... If I can get a good photo taken (my camera is currently unavailable), I will share it with you inshaallah.. If not, well... then I can't... :)

Hijab of the Week

This week, our hijab of the week is a gorgeous beauty from the beautiful Turkish city Bursa. Remember I had mentioned it in one of my posts a few weeks back? Well, I forgot to add that Bursa is world reknowned for its beautiful A class silk. So much so that a couple years back the Queen of England had paid a visit to Bursa to purchase some...

Anyhow, to the point... This weeks hijab is from a beautiful brand in Bursa, and they are famous for their traditional Turkish porcelain prints. The said porcelain designs (motifs) are inspired by those from the Ottoman era, which make them just that much more special.

This hijab is a typical square Turkish hijab, but I wrapped it around like a long rectangular one. I am actually really fond of this and I wear it with my peacock blue overcoat. I believe they go quite well. I can't wait until the sun shines in Australia so I can team this hijab with my said overcoat, and swap the indigo jeans for white wide leg pants (black ones will do just fine but I like white pants in summer). I have a short black sleeveless dress which I wear over my pants... so all I need now is a thin red belt!!! Now that is going to be a tough one 'cos it's just dang difficult to find plus sized belts in anything other than black! Ooohhh, can't wait for summer!!!! :))

Whoopsie, forgot the photo. Here you go...

Now, I know this is a very traditional pattern, but I'm going to ask you the million dollar question anyway. Anybody likey? I'm asking, because my mum says it looks like something somebody would wear to bed (i.e. nightgown). I beg to differ! So what do you think???

xoxo

Hijab of the Week

"Week" I say, but it's been over a month since my first and last (LOL) "Hijab of the Week" post. Sowwy beautifuls, but I am back on the ball again inshaallah! :)

Here is this weeks hijab...

This is a long/rectangle shawl scarf by one of Turkey's well-known brands. It is 100% pure silk and feels just amazing. I don't normally wear these shawl scarves except on rare occasions where I just cannot resist the beauty of 'that' certain scarf. I don't think it really suits me, but what I love about this scarf is the cinnamon border that frames it.

What do you think? Love it or hate it?

Hijab of the Week

I don't know how long I can keep up, but I hope to be able to post a hijab a week. So this week's hijab of the week is this beauty from Armine's 2010 Spring/Summer Collection:

I absolutely love this hijab, so I took one out of my stock for myself. Isn't the colour just gorgeous?
