Turkey post 2

Alhmadulillah...I am fully recovered! Yay! With a pinch of husky voiced, I drove this morning headed back to my uni.. alone.. for 4 hours... weehuu!! Achievement I must say...

Anyhoooo, let's continue with my vacation trip stories yahhh...heee...

-------------CAPPADOCIA: Flinstones land-----------
These are actually houses! Lived by the former people in turkey... This is actually made up of ashes of volcano eruptions when happen back then. The wind blows these ashes thus piling them up. They are strong, yet soft enough for the people to dig up holes to live in em. Unique eh?
As for now, they turn them into restaurants and hotels, attracting tourists from all over the world.. If I'm not mistaken, they are called the Grand Canyon of Turkey too... Try googling Grand Canyon, Arizona, USA.. It looks something like this too :)

-----------CAPPADOCIA: Turkey handmade carpets---------

Ha... you've been to jalan TAR right? lotsa shops selling Pakistan carpets la, India carpets la, yadda3... FYI, the best carpets in the world are actually made from Turkey! They use somewhat double-knot stitching rather than other countries which uses only a single-knot stitching. Double knots are supposed to be tougher I guess.. Plus some carpets are even made of silk! Imagine how fine it is?

Follow the flow of the pics yah :)

4. Introductions to finished carpets..

5. Buying time! My dad bought the silk carpet in maroon on the right. So silky shiny right? Guess the *ehem* price...

-----------CAPPADOCIA: Pottery village----------

The people in this village usually relies on pottery making for living. Boys are taught to make pots since little so that when they get older, they can get married. It is somehow like their ticket to marriage la.. Yikes-a-beee... This porcelain/pots making factory is situated underground/inside a cave. This is to get the constant temperature upon drying the pots.. After that, the artisans, uses their creativitity in adding the final touches on the end products..
