Hijab of the Week

I received another batch of Armine's new season scarves yesterday. I did what I do every time I receive new stock; go through them, note that the codes match the ones of those I ordered, check the quantity, and go through each design and colour one by one to see which ones I want. LOL!

So last night I repeated the 'going through' process probably 5 times? Then mum stood over me and asked what I was doing.

Me: Do you think this will look better with my eid outfit?.

Mum: Shut up.

Me: Seriously?

Mum: Is there a rule that says you need to take 1 scarf from every batch you receive?!

Me: *grin*

Me (in my head): I'm actually thinking of taking 3... or maybe 4... or maybe 5 this time heheheheheh

BUT! I am really working my self-control here girls! I absolutely loved some of the colours. One (which I am wearing now) is a definite haha, but there are 2 more that I really love in this batch. I need to choose only one of the two I'm stuck on. So I brought them all to the shop today. If any one of the two I like sells, I can take the other. :)))

Anyways, here is the hijab of the week... I instantly fell in love with this one even though some other colours would suit me better. :)

Mwahhhh

This is the catelogue version and catalogue colour... Look how hot she looks! I'm jealousssss :)))

And this is my one... Same scarf as the one above, but a different colour version.

A Little More Feminine

Add a skirt/dress to an outfit and you almost instantly get a more feminine look.

That's what I did today... Wore a skirt when I would normally be rocking a pair of jeans as usual. :)

I went on and on about colours yesterday, whereas today I wanted to go all black. Reason being that I purchased this necklace which I think is HOT, but couldn't wear it until now. I thought it would POP out quite well on black. So yeah, that's about it, and I absolutely love the knit vest that I have on today.

Just as I clicked my cam remote, I saw a customer coming to the shop... which is why I have that look on my face :)

As you can see, I am wearing my nude peep toe wedges again. Honestly, I don't own too many pairs, so you wont be seeing me wear a large range of shoes even though I have a full blown shoe fetish. :) In the morning I actually wore black shoes, but then I thought nah, I need to break up the black a little, so I went nude. LOL! I think it's ok, but would black have looked better? Grey certainly would have, but don't own any grey pairs. Anybody wanna donate? I am a size 8 :))))

I wasn't going to have a doosy shot today, but I found this one randomly! LOL I must have pressed the remote when moving the clothing rack back into place. :))

Essential Black Long Sleeve Top: K-mart
Essential Black Long Jersey Skirt: Gift from mummy dearest
I Love It So Much Long Knit Vest: MINK Denim (from Myer)
Twisted Silver Necklace: Lovisa
Essential Black Twill Scarf: Akel (from edb Collection)

I really love this necklace... it does get a little heavy towards the end of the day, nonetheless I adore it :))

Girls, I completed my Eid outfit purchase and am sooo excited. This has been the first time I shopped for Eid since my father passed away, and it has almost been 9 years since that has happened. It really has no direct connection to him passing away, but life has been a little different and difficult since then... Alhamdulillah this year things are starting to take a turn for the better inshaallah and I feel more happy this Ramadhan than any other year these past 9 years... To cut a long story short, I can't wait to wear my Eid goodies and show them to you! :))) It's nothing crash hot, but yeah... you know what I mean :)) Mwahhh!

As the sun shines down on me...

The early morning sun which has lately been peeping out from behind the clouds boasts with the great news that spring is just around the corner. Wednesday the 1st of September will be day 1 of spring here in the land down under. I'm sure many Aussies like myself have been enjoying the slightly warmer weather with brighter sunny days the past few days...

Anyway, the connection? Well, I feel like putting in more effort into my outfits on sunny days. No idea why (might have SAD*? lol), but it just gets me in the mood... I don't have too many bright coloured clothing, so even though I want to experiment a little, I am unable to, because 95% of my wardrobe is black! Grrrr

So I was out shopping this weekend, and I made an effort to go for some different colours. Now, I did invest in a black jacket for Eid and am sooooooo in love with it, but I went for other items that were lighter/different colours. Even though I think I spent a little over my budget at a time when I shouldn't indulge so much in shopping (just got back from overseas!), I am very very veeerrryyy pleased with the things I've been purchasing of late.

You say "whatever!", okay, so I get the point. :) Today's outfit consists of some items that I have worn previously in past posts, but I have one new item. So here goes... :)

Signature pose :)

Slightly confident with a touch of snob :) (don't mind the crinkle on the tummy, it seems the dress got stuck on my jean button)

Not as doosy as I had promised, but will do as I still look like a weirdo :))

Military Style Jacket: Crossroads --previously worn, click to see relevant post
Light Black Wide-Legged Jeans: City Chic --previously worn, click here to see relevant post
Sleeveless Nude Dress: Maggie T --new item, and I am absolutely in lurve with it --especially since I found it reduced from $139 AUD to $12.50 AUD! :)))
Nude Wedge Shoes: Novo --previously worn, click to see relevant post
Silk Scarf: Armine 2010 S/S Collection (from edb Collection) --previously worn, click to see relevant post

Now I'm happy with my outfit today, but I would have loved it if I had lighter coloured pants! Possibly creamy beige? Or would that have been too light? I'm not too sure, but I thought a lot about it and was about to put the whole outfit back in the cupboard... However, I thought that if I wore this particular scarf with the dark grey/light black colouring in it, it just might work. I guess it's not too bad! What do you think beautifuls? :)

xoxo

Pizza bersaiz TAYAR & The Expandable di malam hari.

Assalamualaikum.

Lately ni, kehidupan aku sangat mencabar. Banyak giler tasks weyh. Tension aku. Tension die tahap sampai aku buat lawak aku sendiri tak nak gelak. Giler macam, tak lawak langsung diri sendiri punya lawak. Sedih tau tak bila buat lawak tapi tak kelakar. Walaupun otak bekerja keras tapi tetap lawak berada di takuk lama. Takde anjakan paradigma orang kate.

Next week, aku akan balik ke Malaysia. Excited memang ada, tapi tasks yang nak kena submit lepas lebaran ni bukan main kepalang banyak dia. Memang tak kasi can. Nak nak lepas lebaran gak, aku terlibat dengan events & ada final exam. Every weekends pulak akan ada additional class organized by UKM. Means that, kitorang takkan ada cuti la for weekends. Lecturer dari UKM datang ke bandung bukan hanya sekadar membawa senyuman tapi membawa sekali assignments which I consider a bit leceh la, cuz you have to submit reports & buat slide for presentation sume. That one additional subjects. Tak kira lagi core subject kitorang every weekdays ni. Presentations for LI twice a week, lab manuals, skills lab. Mau tak gila aku kan.

Tapi apa barang gila-gila ni beb. Lek sudeh hee. Aku ni jenis kalau tension, kita kena hiburkan hati yang duka lara. Camne nak buat? Sonang yo. Kumpulkan ahli pasukan yang ingin berhibur, dan pergilah berhibur ! Lepas dah berhibur berjoli semua, kembalilah ke pangkal jalan dengan azam yang cekal di dada. Live life to the fullest beybeh beybeh beybeh owwwww *baling botol kat kepala justin biebier* eh jap jap korang dah tengok tak video yang JB kena baling botol tu kiki kalau belom cepat pegi tengok.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Terdiri daripada 8 orang. Semua inginkan hiburan & makanan yang enak kerana sedih sebab kena datang kelas hari sabtu ahad wuwuwuw..

Memilih menu di Little NYC Italy. Pizza size XL kaw!

CUBA KAU CAKAP DENGAN AKU, XL TAK XL PIZZA NI? nama penuh pizza ni aku dah terlupe, cuma yang aku ingat kitorang amek 3 flavors. Salah satu tu nama dia God Father. Mungkin godfather suka makan pizza-pizza pesen begini T__T

Kitorang panggil pizza ni pizza tayar sebab dia besar sangat sampai tak sedar air mata menitis dengan perlahan-lahan. Sebab masing-masing tamak haloba, jadi TERbeli 2 tray. Sedap tu memang sedap tapi sebab makan masa buka puase, jadi cepat muak & tak boleh makan banyak. Kecewe.

Blueberry cheesecake yang yum yum :p

Contact lens baru amek kat kedai. Grey-brown. Natural sikit la kan. Dah penat berlakon jadi orang putih celup before ni wakakakka

Bersuka ria selepas kenyang :)

Bro kalau tak puas ati jangan jeling-jeling. Ade bran jom jumpa kat simpang kol 5 la. bawak lu punye batu seremban. kita fight game 2hengget. amacam? wakakaka

comelnye kawan-kawan cayeee ;) besaunye pipi aku, macam nak tertetas inner syria tu weyh haha

sementara tunggu movie The Expandable start pukul 9.25mlm, kitorang pegi makan yogurt dulu! Kiwi flavored yogurt + kiwi topping ;)

masaaaammmmm -___- ! tapi sedap tapi sedap tapi sedap.

Lepas tengok movie, dalam 1130mlm camtu, kitorang nak balik dah. Skali kete tak leh start. Huahua balasan tak pegi semayang tarawikh kot. Lepas adegan tolak menolak kereta, baru enjin dapat start. *mengurut dada tanda lega*.

Masalahnye, tengok list je dah menggeletar, seram sejuk & mengalami hallucinations kecil. Akhirnya, tertidur sampai memeluk list di dada tanpa berbuat apa-apa. FINE! pssstttt. doakan urusan saya dipermudahkan ye :) maceh wakkk byee

"Looked good when I wore it at home... but once I was too far to change, I totally regreted it" kinda look...

I'm sure everybody experiences this... I experience it at least once a week, so it's too often for me LOL So I was quite uncomfy all day yesterday. I think the cardi was a little short for my liking, and the belt was the wrong type... OR I shouldn't have worn any at all... but I've tried this before with the elasticated belts and it looked good... so it must be the type of belt I was wearing!

Aaaanywaaays, enough! :)

Soo I know I've been into the nautical colours of late, and it's probably becoming "bogh" (you know? bogh... the feeling you get when you feel nausea at the sight of something or someone heheh), but I did white-red with black this time instead of the navy.

Ta-ta-ta-taaaaammm :)

Yup, that's the cam remote you see once again :) You will be seeing it more often... I love it... makes me a total cam %$&#*# ... professional... LOL If you didn't get it, don't worry hehe

My doosy pose... I'm gonna try and get a silly pose shot each time, I think they're fun-ny. :) Now in this photo I notice that this belt would only look good under coats/cardis/etc, or just under the breasts, because it's not elasticated, so not the most flattering for someone with my shape.

Here I am trying to showcase my new beloved shoes... That's right! Nautical once again! I think I will wear them out this spring and summer! Oh and they're actually navy-red-white, but the navy looks black against black, so I can get away with wearing them one black :))

Black Cardi: Crossroads --this is actually a 2-piece top. It has a stripey top attached to it (I'll do a post wearing it the other way too!), but I wore it so it looks like a cardi lol.
Light Black Wide-Leg Jeans: City Chic
Nautical Shoes: Corelli (from Willams the Shoemen)
Burberry Inspired Scarf: edb Collection :)

I love these scarves. The fabric is called "voile satin", and it is perfect for the warmer seasons. It keeps one cool and is so light that it feels like you aren't wearing anything on your head. Oh yeah and I'm a Burberry freak, so anything that looks like it, I love! I can't afford the original, but wouldn't mind as a gift haha!

Zoe Saldana and Google Search

I really think Zoe Saldana is a very attractive woman... BUT! she hadn't even crossed my mind until I checked my blog analysis page to check the popular "keyword" searches that lead people to my blog...

I scrolled down to see that someone from Morristown, Tennessee, USA using Charter Communications Googled "zoe saldana nude" on their iPhone... niahahahahaha

I know exactly which post they landed on: NUDE ALERT!!!

I know, it's no biggie, but It was funny at the moment.. I thought I'd share :))

Get Ready... Get Set... Get Nautical!

While in Turkey this year... I absolutely loved seeing almost everybody clad in 2010's favourite spring/summer colours; navy, red, white.

I've always thought this colour combination is very classy, and have always had something in these colours to wear especially during the warmer seasons. So as the warmer weather approaches us in the land down under (even though I'm sitting by the heater at the moment LOL), I welcome the nautical colour theme with love... Pffft BIG DEAL! I know, but I just felt like adding the thing about love, it sounds good? heheh

Aaaaanywaaaay... Let's get down to business, yeah? :)

My dear beloved camera is back. So what you see there in my hand is the remote... it's better than setting the timer on the other cam! :)

Strike a pose! Not Vogue material, but who the hell is Vogue ha? :))

Royal Blue Long Cardi: Tekbir (from edb Collection)
Little Black Dress (not mentioning this anymore, you will get sick of it LOL)
Jeans: Millers (They actually used to be my niece's, but they are a little big for her, so now they're mine! I never shop from Millers, except when mum wants to go, but seems they sometimes have nice stuff.)
Shoes: Novo (Yes, again!)
Belt: K-mart
Scarf: Armine 2010-2011 A/W Collection (from edb Collection)

Yeppers! A close-up shot of the scarf, and a "howdy, how ya doin'?" kinda pose just for you! :)

Okay, who has an iPhone? Oops, wrong question; Who DOESN'T have an iPhone? Well I love mine, and to me, the covers I use are just as important as any other accessory! I don't have like loads of covers, but I plan to have more. Trust me, I only have 4. This is a cheapo one, a bargain at $3 Aussie buckeroonies... And to top it off, it was a gift from my one and only abowski*. So how many covers do you have? Abowski had another one, the same but in black... I chose this one for this cardi LOL I thought, 'go for something other than black for once woman!' Surprise surprise! I actually listened to me :))

Ah, and the shoes... I know they aren't the prettiest pair, but they are by far the comfiest! I have practically worn them out during the past 3 months as I can make them work for any occasion. Also, perfect height thanks to the short wedge heel!

By now, followers of this blog must have noticed my belts. I'm almost always wearing a belt. And NO, they don't make us look fatter... Maybe fatsier (it's not a typo!.. it just means 'yeah I may have some extra meat (i.e. fat) but I can be pretty' LOL I just made it up.. use is at your own discretion)!

Honestly, if used properly, it can enhance any plus sized woman's look... Some need to wear it at the empire waist (just below the breasts), some at the tummy, and some at the hips... depends on your body shape and what you are wearing... I very rarely wear it over a jacket or cardi, etc... I wear it under... so it gives a more slimming look rather than placing emphasis on the curvier side of things... if you kow what I mean :))

The biggest problem is being able to find some nice belts for us 'curvier' women. City Chic has some really nice ones, but prices usually start from $39.99 AUD... and they are almost always black! Autograph sometimes has some really hot ones, but not all the time! Once again, they are quite pricey... usually start from $49.99 AUD. Also, don't forget to check out K-mart for the cheaper ones.. they are not creative ones, nonetheless you can get standard-good looking ones for as low as $12-$15 AUD.

IMHO, belts should be a staple for any plus sized woman's wardrobe, especially if you wear cardis, jackets, coats, etc on top of your clothing... I like to leave the front part open as I think it gives a different effect :)

I would actually love a red belt to go with this outfit.. or just want one anyway! I'm especially looking for the thin ones, but will take any if I find it. Anyone know where I find one in the plus size range?

Sorry about the extra reading you had to do this time. :))

Mwahhh

* "Abowski" is what I call m sister. The Turkish for "older sister" is "abla" (pronounced aab-lah). In some Turkish villages they say "aba". It's a quite popular way of saying "abla" in the Aegian area of Turkey which is where I come from. So "aba" was changed to "abo" with a touch of ... ummm Russian? LOL and when I put them both together, it sort of becomes an English word that doesn't exist :)))) So yeah, when I saw "abo" or "abs" or "abowski", I'm referring to my sis. :) FYI

Spring Fever

I simply cannot wait for spring to arrive... The last couple of days have been teasing me... A little warmth and sunshine early in the day which then leaves its place to the season norm; dark clouds and cool weather. Shouldn't complain, but I just love wearing white skirts and trousers. I sometimes go ahead and wear them during the cold season too, but I do get weird looks. But I don't really care as I wear what I want! :))

So this is what I wore on the weekend...

Full-length gypsy skirt: L.C. Waikiki (mummy dearest's gift from Turkey), oh and it's actually a strapless sun dress with the wide elastic band up top (for the boobie toobies), but yeah, bring it down and it automatically becomes a long skirt :))
2-piece floral/nautical top: Good old K-mart LOL (I actually tried a belt on top, but I don't think it looked nice due to the patterns, so off it went!)
Plain navy scarf: Just a piece of fabric from the store, and the edges were
burnt into shape by moi using a candle
Gladiator flats: You can't see them here as I was inside the house,
but they were my niece's pair anyway :) I need to get me a pair too!

...and I love you too! :))

To muslim husbands ...

A good chance in this Holly month for some husbands to strengthen character and their relationships with their wives ;)

TIPS HOW TO KEEP UR WIFE'S LOVE

1. Make her feel secure; (sakina- tranquillity) QUIT BEING AGGRESSIVE

2. When you go home say 'Assalamu 3leikom. '  It kicks the sheytaan out of ur home!

3. Rasool (saw) described the wife as a fragile vessel and said to take care of this vessel that’s fragile. Remember that there is goodness in this vessel so treat it gently.

4. When u advise her, do so in privacy, in a peaceful environment. NOT IN PUBLIC as it’s a type of slandering.

5. Be generous to ur wife- it keeps her LOVED

6. Move and let her have ur seat. It will warm her heart.

7. AVIOD ANGER. HOW? Keep ur wudhu at all times. Rasool (saw) said if u are angry, sit down, if u’re sitting, then lie down. Follow the sunnah!

8. Look good and smell great for ur wife. IT keeps the LOVE!

9. Don’t be rigid. It will break u. Prophet Mohammed (saw) said 'I am the best amongst u and I am the best to my wife'. Being rigid and harsh will not bring u close to Allah and neither does it make u more of a man.

10. Listen to ur wife -BE a GOOD LISTENER

11. YES to flattering NO to arguing. Arguing is like poison in a marriage. Al zawai said 'When Allah (swt) wants evil for people He will leave them to argue amongst themselves'.

12. Prophet (saw) said to call ur wives with the best name, any name she loves to hear. He (saw) called Aisha 'ya Aish' as an endearment.

13. Give her a pleasant surprise. I.e. if she loves watermelon, bring her one out of the blue. It will grow the love in her heart.

14. Preserve ur tongue! Rasool (saw) said the tongue will throw people in the hell fire so watch what u say and how u say it!

15. All of us have shortcoming. Accept her shortcoming and Allah (swt) will put barakah in ur marriage.

16. TELL her u appreciate her. SHOW her u appreciate her.

17. Encourage her to keep good relation with her relative, her mum and dad etc.

18. Speak with her with a topic of HER interest.

19. In front of her relative praise her. Confirm/ realize that she is wonderful, and that she is a good person in front of her family.

20. Give each other gifts. U will love each other more. Rasool (saw) said gifts increases love.

21. Get rid of the routine once in a while, surprise her with something, it will get rid of the rust and polish it!

22. Husnul zaan- We have a demand from Allah (swt) that we have to think good of people. Think good of ur spouse.

23. Ignore some of her mistakes- pretend u did not see/hear some of her small mistakes. It was a practice of Ali (RA). It’s like putting a hole in ur memory. Don’t save it in ur memory!

24. Increase the drops of patience, especially when she is pregnant or when she is on her monthly period.

25. Expect and respect her jealousy. Even Aisha (ra) used to get jealous.

26. Be humble. If ur profession is good, respect that she is looking after ur children, she is much more than u, she is the leader at home, her strength is ur strength, and her success is ur success.

27. Don't put ur friends above ur wife.

28. Help ur wife at home. Rasool (saw) used to help his wives at home and he was the best of creation. He used to sew his own clothes.

29. Help her respect ur parents, u can’t force her to love them, but she can be helped to gradually love them.

30. Show ur wife she is the ideal wife.

31. Remember ur wife in ur du3aas. It will increase the love and protect it.

32. Leave the past. It brings nothing but pain and grief. It’s not ur business. The past is for Allah (swt).

33. Don't try to show her that u are doing her a favour by doing something, like buying food for the house, because in reality man are the courier of sustenance, not the providers, as Allah is the provider. It’s also a way of being humble and thankful to Allah (swt)

34. Sheytaan is ur enemy, not ur wife. Sometime when husband and wife are talking a fight breaks out, then sheytaan is present there as a third person so he is the real enemy. It is not enough to hate the sheytaan, but u have to see him as an enemy as Allah has commanded. Sheytaan loves divorce. HE comes everyday and sits office and asks the devils what they have done, some say i have made a person steal, or i have made someone drink etc. And one devil will say i have made a man divorce his wife, and he is crowned as the one who has done the best job.

35. Take the food and put it in her mouth. Rasool (saw) taught us this. It’s a blessing. The food doesn’t just go to her stomach, but straight to her heart. It increases the love and mercy between u.

36. Protect ur wife from the evil of the sheytaan and mankind. She is like a precious pearl that needs protecting from the envy of human devils and sheytaan.

37. Show her ur smile. Smile at ur wife. IT’S A CHARITY.

38. Small problems/ challenges can become a big problem. Or if there is small thing she didn't like and u keep repeating them anyway, it will create a wall between u. Don’t ignore them as it can become big.

39. Avoid being harsh hearted and moody. Allah said of prophet (saw) 'if u were harsh hearted they (the companions) would have left u.' It confirms Rasool (saw) was not harsh hearted, so GET RID OF IT.

40. Respect her thinking. It’s strength for u. Show u like her thoughts and suggestions.

41. Help her to achieve her potential and help her to dig and find success within as her success is ur success.

42. Respect the intimate relationship and its boundaries. Prophet (saw) said she is like a fragile vessel and she needs to be treated tenderly. Sometime she may not be feeling well; u must respect and appreciate that feeling.

43. Help her to take care of the children. Some men think it makes them appear less of a man but in fact it makes u appear a bigger man and more respected, especially in the sight of Allah (swt).

44. Use the gifts of the tongue and sweet talk her. Tell her she looks great, be an artist. Pick and choose gifts of the tongue.

45. Sit down and eat with her and share food with her.

46. Let her know u are travelling. Don't tell her out of the blue as it’s against Islam. Tell her the date/ time of when u are coming back also.

47. Don't leave the house as soon as trouble brews.

48. The house has privacy and secrecy. Once u take this privacy and secrecy to ur friends and family u are in danger of putting a serious hole in ur marriage. This secrecy stays home. Islam is against leaving them out like a garage sale for anyone to come and pick and choose.

49. Encourage each other for ibadah, i.e. plan a trip for hajj or umrah together. It increases and strengthens the love when u help each other perform a good deeds together i.e, do tahajuud together,or go to a dars together etc.

50. Know her rights, not only written in paper but engraved in ur heart and engraved in your conscious.

51. Allah( swt) said 'live with ur wives in kindness.' Treat them with kindness and goodness. It means in happy times and in sadness treat her with goodness and fairness.

52. Prophet (saw) showed that at the time of intimacy. Don’t jump on ur wife like an animal!

53. When u have a dispute with ur wife don’t tell everyone. It’s like leaving ur wounds open to germs so be careful who u share ur problems and disputes with.

54. Show ur wife u really care for her health. Good health of ur wife is ur good health. To care for her health shows her that u love her.

55. Don’t think u are always right. No matter how good u are u have shortcomings. U are not perfect as the only one who was perfect in character was Rasool (saw) Get rid of this disease.

56. Share ur problems, ur happiness, and ur sadness with her.

57. Have mercy on her weakness. Have mercy when she is weak or strong as she is the fragile vessel. Prophet (saw) said that ur wife is a trust in ur hand.

58. Remember u are her strength, someone to lean on in times of hardship.

59. Accept her as she is. Rasool (saw) said that women are created from the rib which is bent. If u try to straighten her u will break her (divorce). He (saw) also said that u may dislike one habit in her but u will like another manner in her so accept her as she is.

60. Have good intention for ur wife all the time, Allah ( swt) monitors ur intention and ur heart at all times. Allah (s.w.t) said Among His Signs is that He created for u wives from among urselves, that u may find repose in them, and He has put between u affection and mercy. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who reflect.

Smokey Eyes or Smokin' Eyes? :)

I just realised that I hadn't done any make-up look posts for a while... sooooo the other day I was too early for work, and guess what I did? I played with my make-up! :)

I always go for the natural look, especially since I ain't going anywhere, so I thought why not do something different? I had the colours, so I went for the smokey eye. I was embarrassed all day at the shop.. I can only imagine what the customers were thinking about this crazy woman with full on make-up, but oh well... they are only women, so I didn't think too much about it except for the fact that I was conscious of my heavy eye make-up each time ladies walked in. :)

Actually, it could and should have been darker, but I opted to use dark grey instead of full on black which I absolutely love... Peeps, invite me to a hens party or wedding! Duh! It's Ramadhan! :))

Eyeshadows were all Inglot... Nothing beats it! Would not budge all day... Don't mind the eyebrows :)
Eyeliner is MAC's jel pot
Mascara is my latest favourite, Max Factor False Lash Effect
Foundation is Bella Pierre's mineral foundation in Ivory which I always get compliments for
Blush is Inglot, but can't remember the colour code

The full picture... I opted to go totally nude/natural on the face as the eyes were already dark enough for the day... I also wanted it to blend in well with my hijab, which I think was a success :)

Little Long Note: I had a request a while back on make-up courses in Melbourne/Australia. I am very sorry about the delay, but here is some brief info:

If you are interested in just basic skills, you would probably benefit from attending a one on one 2-3 hour session at an Inglot store or even better, Gorgeous Cosmetics. Inglot offers the 'course' at any store you visit. You need to pre-book and it costs around $90 AUD. The best thing about it is that you can ask specifically for what you want to learn, and in the end your course fee is redeemable on products. So at the end of your session you are able to choose $90 worth of cosmetics/tools of your choice to keep! Gorgeous Cosmetics has a similar offer, but you would need to call (see their website) for the full details.

If you want to do a full on course with certificate and all, then I would strongly recommend The Academy of Make-up. I have looked into their course structure, spoken to someone about the courses they have on offer... and basically you can choose how much detail you want to get into. To be honest, the price is quite high, but government grants are available. They have open days 2-3 times a year, so if you call and have your name taken down, they will update you and send you invitations for any open days that may take place.

I'm not an expert, so that's all I know to pass on.

Too Cold To Get Dressed!

I have been totally freezing my toosh off these last couple of days so I just can't be bothered getting dressed up. I know this is a bad thing, because any effort I make in my outfit reflects on my mood and how I feel about myself during that day. Also, I believe customers like seeing presentable 'sales assistants'. :) ..or do they? hmm... :)

Anyhow, it was just one of those days where I just piled on anything that was ready and convenient...

Okay, I know I look like a doofus, but I was only trying to show my shoes, but I failed despite all my efforts, so boo hoo! :)

My 'artistic' pose. It was supposed to be a funny one with me forcing 'fish lips', but looks more serious than humorous. Don't mind my gut LOL

Long Black Knit Cardi: Seyran (purchased it during my trip to Turkey last November)
Little Black Dress: Crossroads (I mentioned it in a previous post... you will be seeing this soooo many times that you will get sick of it, I have a couple of the same as they are very handy and versatile)
Indigo Wide Leg Jeans: City Chic (they have the best plus size jeans... I know they are a tad expensive, but here's a tip: ask them if they have any sale stock in the back! One of the sales assistants gave me this tip and I purchased 4 pairs of jeans for the price of 1, so go figure!!!)
Scarf: Armine 2010 Spring/Summer Collection (from edb Collection)

...and a close up of my awesome hijab! I know this is a little too floral for some, but I love it. Oh, and the colours! I wasn't really a fan when I first saw it, but when I tried it on... it was love... as with all the scarves I own :))
